Richard Bagnall - Professional Reference


Richard joined Cimage International Limited, on a contractor basis in May 1991, at a time when the Company was rapidly expanding into the corporate Electronic Document Management Systems market. He was originally tasked with porting several Cimage server based products mostly written in C, from a DEC Unix environment into a Dec Vax. This initial contract was for approximately six months duration based at our Corporate Office in Ann Arbor Michigan. Upon succesful completion of that task, Richard's contract was renewed on a rolling basis, and he was assigned a significant number of tasks, spanning both development and maintenance.

In recent years, Richard's role has become biased towards the development of a small number of self contained bespoke Windows developments, usually written in Powerbuilder or Visual Basic. This work culminated him delivering, on-time, two major items of work for two of Cimage's most strategic and prestigious accounts.

Richard is comfortable in both Unix and Windows development environments and has always demonstrated a flexible and pragmatic approach to new tools and tasks. He has always concentrated on developing applications with the emphasis on ease of use, which has always proved popular with the target users. He also devotes a great deal of effort to ensure that his applications are robust, and has earned the respect of his colleagues for his dedication to this.
