The individual named above has been contracted to work for Smallworld for the period 9 November 1995 to 31 January 1996. He has been working under my direction.

During this period Richard has been working on a project for one of our largest customers, a regional electricity company, and has been undertaken a variety of activities related to delivering application components to that customer.

Those tasks have involved integrating existing software components in the data model and applications already in place; writing Magik code; investigations to ascertain whether a particular solution is the most appropriate; use of the CASE tool to extend and change the data model and demonstration of new functionality to the customer on site.

The scale of the tasks has ranged from a couple of days to a couple of weeks in duration.

The areas of the product covered include software component management and integration, plotting, CASE tool reporting, ACP's (interfacing to C modules), internal worlds and alternative management.

Richard's professional conduct is exemplary. He conducts himself in a serious and professional manner, and approaches his work in a conscientious and thorough way. He has provided complete reports of his activities and the quality of both his written and technical work is very good.
