Q: What is Lat/Lon?

A: Lat/Lon is short for Latitude and Longitude

Latitude gives the location of a place on Earth North or South of the Equator.

Latitude is an angular measurement ranging from 0° at the Equator to 90° at the poles.

Longitude describes the location of a place on Earth east or west of a north-south line called the Prime Meridian.

Longitude is given as an angular measurement ranging from 0° at the Prime Meridian to +180° eastward and -180° westward.

Q: How do I know the Lat/Lon of a location?

A: BabyChange.com has a lat/lon finder, simply press the button to open it, use the zoom control to zoom in, click and drag to position the map under the cursor, then click the green "Select" button. All done.

MultiMap

MultiMap is another useful mapping tool which can help you find locations, streets and directions.

It does not require a software download to use and has streetmap information, aerial photography and more.

To find lat/lon using

MultiMap, simply zoom-in to find the place you want to locate. When you find the location, click on the exact spot, then look below the map in the "Map Information" panel (under the adverts). You will see the Latitude and Longtitude displayed. Simply carefully copy exactly what you see (Either the format 52:28:32N and 0:33:21E or the decimal 52.4756 and 0.5559) into the fields on our form. Be sure to include N,S,E or W to indicate North, South, East or West if using the first format. Be sure to include the minus sign if present in the second format.
